Rating Anime

You know MyAnimeList? If you do (I’ll assume you do), you will definitely notice that function that allows you to rate anime. Wait, that was really such a “Duh” moment. So this post, I would like to explore how do people rate anime.

Think about it, who will win?

I mean no matter how great or sucky an anime is, if you look the statistics, there are always people who will give 0 for an anime reknowned for being fantastic and a 10 for animes that seem like crap to everybody. So this time I want to try thinking about why actually causes this. And the two main (and very general) points that I see are,

Significance of OPs and EDs

In a bid to push a little bit for the tourney(which ended already xP) (and have a little fun myself), I chose the most fun posts out of my “to post” list. A post about one of the little thigs that people overlook. To a certain extent the openings and to a HUGE extent the ending themes.

Is there something about these that make them get skipped each time you watch an episode. If you’re marathoning a whole season I will understand, but even for weekly episodes people still skip them. Have we really became so impatient that we really fail to notice the wide variety of enjoyment found in the OP and ED? Ok, sometimes I admit I do skip the EDs mostly from laziness, but I nowadays I make the point to actually listen to them to the end, you might find the EDs really nice to listen to.

The Saki Superpowers!

I’ve been really stumped lately from over thinking about my academics and with the ani-blogging tourney coming out and seeing a tweet on twitter, I guess doing this will be fun. Like the title says, I will be compiling/boring you about the (super)natural abilities of the Saki girls, you know, whenever you see lightning sparkle from someone’s eye or hand, you know sh*t is going down. After watching the first Saki, I got into the whole mahjong thing and have been playing online mahjong for quite a bit so I can safely say that I (somewhat) know what on earth I am talking about. So enough of my bull-crap… on to the impressions.

Accel World First Impressions – The Digital adventures of Lard Boy

Out of all the animes in the spring season list, Accel world caught my eye because, obviously of this girl right here. Not to mention that the plot blurb made it seem quite promising.

Service to the fans

For the benefit of those who don’t know, Accel World is about this guy, Haru, who is the typical loser in school with a flair for gaming, even setting the global high scores for games. One day, he is approached by Black Snow, the most popular girl in school and model student, probably also a model who gives him an ability that practically stops time. In order to continue using the ability, Haru must beat others in simulated fights where players turn into their avatars. This all takes place in a world where everybody has a device linked with their brain that allows them to have a personal virtual computer.

Sounds weird? Well it is.

GO! GO! MANIAC! (InuxBoku Episode 9 Review)

What a title for this episode. “Day of the Promise”, it makes this episode sound so serious and like somebody died or something. But then, it’s just a day to drink coffee with Miketsukami.

Heads up, but most of the pictures are here for the moe, nothing else.

A Miu-centric Episode (Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai Episode 9 Review)

(No more greetings until I think of cooler ones) This episode is basically a Miu centered episode with her going on a date. But relax all you Miu lover, it is just Nimura trying to cheer her up after she seemed dull.

This episode has the label “Light-Hearted but contains serious themes” all over it. So, I will try approaching it with this cattle prod.

The Socially Awkward Ririchiyo (InuxBoku SS Episode 7 & 8 Review)

So it is time for ANOTHER, double episode review. This time it’s for InuxBoku SS! Wow, I am really, really glad that once I am done with this I will be back on schedule and can do other things. If time permits, I might do a Symphogear review. (Or not)

This is DEFINITELY considered fanservice

Since we left off, nothing has changed except maybe Ririchiyo has friends now. Both Watanuki and Karuta are both close to Ririchiyo and although she does not admit it, I guess we all know she likes it. Plot wise nothing much progressed between those two episodes so nothing much to talk about there.

The Power of Cute Compels You! (Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai Episode 7 & 8 Review)

Time for a double episode review special for PapaKiki. As soon as I’m done with these, I will be finally back on schedule. Yay! Now you may be wondering about the title of this post, it has great meaning to episode 8 and is a K-ON dub reference.

If you did not know, this is a reference to the PV of the OP "Happy Girl" by KitaEri (Miu)

Seeing that episode 7 and 8 are both linked, it does not hurt to put them together, after all this means double the cuteness.

End of the Bee and into the Phoenix (Nisemonogatari Episode 7 Review)

Hello people. It’s me again. Why? You might ask. Well… Free’s said he was lazy to do it plus we have tests tomorrow so he kinda ditched you guys. Nah, he’s just (quote) “Too lazy” to do it so I am back here again. Not bad seeing that I get to round up the rest of this arc.

What is with Nisem and their blatant fanservice? I mean did they really have to do that?
