This was started by randomness and alcohol part 2 (Massive Winter 2012 anime group Preview )

Part 2 of this incredibly long blog post. I’d like to thank you if you are still reading this. You must be really bored to do so. Either that or you’re stalking one of the writers. (Please let it be me.)

Either way, enjoy our “hard” work as we continue to assault you with walls of text.

Ano Natsu de Matteru

Cyborg:

A love triangle anime with adolescent characters. As I said about life-of-life, could be good or bad.

Chance of me watching: 10% till proven otherwise (or until the fans annoy the hell outta me)

Valence:

>adolescent romance comedy

Pass.

@fkeroge:

Onegai Twins. I already have what I need to know.

Chances of @fkeroge watching this: 0%

SleepySlacker:

A comedic romance , but honestly – these are not my type. I guess LessThanFree might be interested. It has that slice-of-life setting so I might be watching it.

Chances of me Watching? : Maybe

Brave10

Cyborg:

10 brave warriors fighting in times past. Ummm….meh. Also, I have a feeling a lot of fujoshis will be all over this….

Chance of me watching: 5% if I am absolutely bored or threatened at gun point

Valence:

Because Sengoku Basara wasn’t enough.

Chances of Valence watching this: 50%

Azure:

Sengoku Era Japan, Warlord Yukimura Sanada…

Not Sengoku BASARA. MEH.

Incidentally, I was late in submitting my part for this post because I stayed up late till 1am yesterday just to finish up Yukimura’s route on the wii and couldn’t get up today…

Chances of Azure finally completing Masamune’s route= give me another 2 months

@fkeroge:

Sengoku Era. No.

Ang probabilidad na ang palabas na ito ay panonoorin ni @fkeroge: 0%

SleepySlacker:

It is a fantasy show set back in the old days where this guy wants to find 10 of the strongest warriors to change the course of a war. I kind of expect it to be the classic sword fighting mixed with superpowers and that idea seems a bit overused. But I might give it a go seeing the reviews.

Chances of me Watching? :Maybe

Zero no Tsukaima F

Cyborg:

Final season of the Zero no Tsukaima series. Magical stuff again –  A girl with no apparent magical skills was forced to summon a familiar and gets a high-school boy, and now they get into hijinks on a regular basis. My friends say it’s decent, but I have no clue about it.

Chance of me changing to another show whilst watching an episode: 70%

Valence:

Guess what the F stands for, hurr hurr. I wonder why she’s wearing Index’s costume though, unless she becomes a nun or wizard in robes or something.

I hope not.

Besides the only thing I remember of this show is this:

In fact, I completely forgot how much the previous 2 seasons sucked.

Chances of Valence watching this: 100%.

Azure:

I never got past season 3. Too many boobs, not enough focus on Louise. And it bothers me as to why Louise stole Index’s clothes…

And the ‘F’ in the title… does it stand for “final?”

Chances of ZnT ending up Like SnS= 65%

@fkeroge:

Ah, what the heck! I’ll just finish this so I can get on with my life that was partially ruined by the third season.

Chances of @fkeroge getting disappointed by this season of ZnT: 10% (Assuming that I don’t drop it.)

SleepySlacker:

Fourth Season of Zero no Tsukaima. I did not like the first three, but I might watch the fourth to know what happens at the end.

Chance of me Watching?: Maybe

Amagami SS+

Cyborg:

The sequel to the Amagami anime. I am rather interested in this one as I’ve heard some good stuff about it. The art agrees with me. Another harem anime like Mashiroiro but I did rather like Mashiroiro, even though it was incredibly generic

Chance of me watching: 30%

Valence:

FUCK YES.

Aside from Sae and Haruka,  I’m all in for another arc with each of the heroines. Of course, if Sae and Haruka’s arcs become more refined and less….gimmicky (Sae with tentacles, never forget.) I might watch theirs too.

Scratch that, I’m watching the whole series.

Chances of Valence watching this: 100+plus.

@fkeroge:

Ignoring the awfully redundant title, Amagami SS is one of my favorite anime, but that’s as much as I can say about this. It’s not really something for everybody, but I guess this will at least entertain those who liked the first season (including myself). Omnibus format FTW.

Chances of @fkeroge watching this: 100%

SleepySlacker:

I have no idea – it’s a dramatic romance. That’s all I know. Not my kind of show, even if I do plan to watch it, I’m going to have to cover the first season as well. The characters look moe, so I guess that is a plus point.

Chance of me Watching? : Maybe

Natsume Yuujin-Chou Shi

Cyborg:

A guy who sees spirits huh. And he finds out why that is so from his deceased granny’s book. How about no. This sounds like it’ll bore me outta my mind.

Chance of me getting distracted while watching an episode: 100%

Valence:

I don’t like watching sequels when I haven’t watched their prequels yet.

Pass.

SleepySlacker:

The fourth season of a anime about a guy releasing ghosts from a book. The concept interests me and the slice-of-life feel is there. From what I have heard from friends, it is a really popular anime and I will try to find the time to watch it if I complete the 3 seasons before it.

Chance of me Watching? : After finishing the first 3 seasons, Yes.

Senhime Zesshou Symphogear

Cyborg:

This one seems interesting. Music and fighting. A curious mix. 2 girls in a band trying to fight against an unknown enemy known as “noise”. Most interesting indeed

Chance of me being incredibly entertained by this: 60%

Valence:

Aside from the main seiyuu being Nana Mizuki, I think the concept of the show may be interesting. It’s like a literal interpretation of Macross Frontier’s synopsis. Songs to fight the noise. The monsters may be a butchery of the English language but I still think the show may please. I’m hoping it’ll be good.

Chances of Valence watching this: 60%

Azure:

One word: SYNCHROGAZER

Make that two words: NANA MIZUKI.

See what I meant by girls fighting aliens becoming a trend? Not that this will deter me from watching symphogear. Nana Mizuki in headphones with her new contacts starring at me… GOD, I’M SOLD: JUST LOOK AT THE PV:

And the preview in Japan pretty much says that this is an anime about the power of songs and yuri love vs aliens. How can this not sell? Also, Nana Mizuki finally, FINALLY gets a singing role this time round. That’s the problem with Blood C and Dog Days… You get the only female seiyuu to make it into Kohaku Uta Gassen for 3 years and counting and you don’t give her a singing role? UTTER BLASPHEMY; especially Dog Days… Seven Arcs should know better why am I ranting about Dog Days…

What more with ElementGardens and Agematsu Noriyasu behind the music… And a possible Yuuki Aoi and Nana Mizuki duet; HOW CAN THIS NOT SELL.

Most anticipated show of 2012 for me much?

And in true honesty, the only show in the entire 2012 winter that I’m genuinely looking forward to.

 Chances of Azure watching this with one sided blind bias on how awesome this show is even if it sucks:  EVERYTHING FOR NANA MIZUKI.

@fkeroge:

I bet this would be like Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch minus the Mermaids and plus the plugsuits.

No. *sigh*

SleepySlacker:

A Sci-fi anime about girls fighting things invading the world with music thrown in. Catches my eye and with another of my favourites ,Yuuki Aoi, thrown into the mix, I might have to give it a go.

Chance of me Watching? : Maybe

Papa no lu Koto o Kikinasai

Cyborg:

This seems like an anime that’s going to be full of fanservice and lolis. Because the main part of the story revolves around a bunch of lolis being left to be taken care of by a college student after their parents disappear.

Chance of me watching: 5% just because it could be good or I might want to kill myself after

Valence:

This along with Usagi Drop make me wonder whether anyone in the anime and manga industries had ever been a father before. Surely such a small age gap might make the girls feel weird, and the fact that of all people, he has to take care of the children (no older relatives on either side of the two families) makes me question whether the show is planning on taking itself seriously or being yet another comedy. I hope for good results. I’m watching.

Chances of Valence watching this :100%

SleepySlacker:

A story of a guy who has to look after his sister’s kids after she goes missing. I am sold. Cute girls, check. Interesting idea, check. Cute girls? CHECK! (I’m not desperate.) Let’s see how it goes. It interests me a lot.

Chances of me Watching? : Most Likely

Black Rock Shooter

Cyborg:

It’s Black Rock Shooter. I loved the OVA. There was no plot summary for this but who cares.

Chance of me watching: over 9000%

Valence:

I’m already donning my yuri goggles. Danny Choo spoiled the new series for us back in AFA during 2010, and GSC’s director covered it up afterwards by saying that it was merely a possibility. While the OVA may have been subpar in terms of plot, I feel that the OVA has done a good job in leading up to this point. IF you intend to watch the series, I suggest that you finish the OVA first. I bet a lot of things in the story (i.e. where they are fighting, etc) won’t really be answered, but it seems like one of those high-octane fight and mystery anime. I’m interested.

Chances of Valence watching this: 100%

Azure:

No reason to turn down potential mind-fuck material. No reason at all.

I wish they didn’t re-design the school uniform. Everyone else looks so much better after the re-designing (DM with glasses; rabu~) except Mato and Yomi…

And then the plot will end up like that.

Chances of Azure starting to draw BRS yuri shiet after watching this = ?

@fkeroge:

While I still have no idea what the heck happened with the OVA, I still found BRS to be quite interesting, but that interest mainly came from the character designs and the surreal checkered alternate world, rather than the essence of the show itself. noitaminA’s doing pretty bad lately, alienating the people who would watch the usual shows associated with the timeslot. Black Rock Shooter is another attempt to break free of the cult following of noitaminA to a more mainstream audience. Whether this is a good idea or not, only time will tell.

Chances of @fkeroge watching this: 100%

SleepySlakcer:

The one we all have been waiting for. BRS the anime. The OVA caught my attention, and the action and storyline interest me. So definitely watching and Cyborg,too, should definitely be watching.

Chances of me Watching? : Yes

Kill me Baby

Cyborg:

A rather random kids-like show about an assassin and her schoolmate. Umm…what?

Chance of me watching: Next to 0%.

Valence:

Chances of Valence watching this: 10%

@fkeroge:

Why, JC Staff?

Chances of @fkeroge watching this: 0%

SleepySlacker:

A comedy about a normal assassin and her normal schoolgirl friend. Looks interesting, though I am interested to see how they are going to carry out the comedic parts. If the comedy is good, I will watch it

Chance of me Watching? : Maybe

Busou Chuugakasei Basketarmy

Valence:

>asread

Asread is generally, a bad anime studio.

I am also a bad person.

Chances of Valence watching it: 100%

Azure:

“Basket army… Pfft-“

Chances of Azure catching this show= 0%

@fkeroge:

Three minutes per episode. Asread.  No.

Chances of @fkeroge watching any anime short: 20%

Tantei Opera Milky Holmes 2

Valence:

I’ve ranted about it many times in the past, ever since January last year, to the stupidity of how the show’s main antagonist was revealed. (SPOILER: They do it by fondling her breasts.) If the stupidity of that scene didn’t scare you away, watch on.

Yet I’m watching this anyway, because I’m actually fucking retarded.

Chances of Valence watching it: 100%.

@fkeroge:

Well, I have taken it upon myself that I must watch the first season of this as people seemed to really like it. I might end up throwing dynamite at my screen afterwards, but whatever. If my monitor stays intact after the explosion, I will watch this.

Chances of @fkeroge blowing up his monitor with dynamite: ~50%

SleepySlacker:

A moe anime mixed with mystery and randomness. I watched the first season and the craziness is there, but the way the anime trolls you is really… ARGH! I might give it a chance by marathoning it near the end of the season but that’s all. Going to pass on the moe I guess. Might watch for the Seiyuu though, Mimorin!!

Chance of me Watching? : Maybe

Highschool DxD

Valence:

Sounds like a shoddy ecchi show to me. It’s practically Zero no Tsukaima in spirit, only less believable.  You know it’ll be a show where all the women around the MC magically become sluts. You practically know that there will be shoddy writing, cheap gimmicks and jokes made in poor taste, not to mention the gleaming light of censorship and all the signs of a cliché ecchi anime. All signs point towards this show being one of the shoddiest anime made in 2011. Drop this like it’s hot, drop this when you can. Better yet, don’t watch it because you know it’s utter crap and you have good taste.

Unlike me.

Chances of Valence watching this: 100%.

Azure:

Anime, why are you doing this to me?

Aquarion EVOL

Valence:

Because one wasn’t enough.

Chances of Valence watching this: 50%

Azure:

!!

@fkeroge:

Mecha anime that looks awfully generic. No.

I’m getting tired of typing the chances that I would do random stuff.

SleepySlacker:

It is the classic ‘saving the world from total destruction with a giant robot’ anime. HanaKana is in it so I might watch it for her or if they blow me away with the first episode. So in other words, I will wait and see how they do it.

Chances of me Watching? : Maybe

Nichijou Reairing

Valence:

@fkeroge:

I love Nichijou.

If you didn’t, please lodge a complaint at IReallyGiveAFuck@gmail.com. Hopefully we’ll get back to you shortly, and also, get you a psychiatrist to find out why you suck so much.

I. NEVER. FORGET. THE. YURI. PIC.

About Manfred Tham

Manfred can typically be found hiding from people behind his computer screen or a tall pint. However you can easily contact him in any given video game where he will either insult you or be really nice to you. In addition his nerdiness transcends the digital plane when he partakes in the arcane rituals of rolling dice in both table-top and board games. Disregarding the countless hours he has logged into games, Manfred loves nothing more than cooking food to satisfy his craving for Northern European cuisine or to sip away from the many bottles of whiskies he fondly defaults to. Manfred is also what is commonly known as a “metalhead” with a penchant for both symphonic and power metal. Manfred summarises his life philosophy with a quote by Samuel L.Jackson, but it has been redacted for being far too vulgar.
